About Eclipse Perspectives

Your Workbench contains one or more perspectives. A perspective defines the initial set and layout of the views in your Workbench window. Each perspective is focused on a specific development-related task, such as debugging.

Different perspectives have different menus and toolbars. When you are working in Aptana, you will be working in either the Aptana perspective, which will have menus and toolbars related to basic web development, or the Aptana Projects Perspective, which you can use if you prefer to organize groups of related files into projects (e.g. a project for a web site). You can tell that you are working in the Aptana Perspective by the Aptana icon in the upper right corner of your Workbench, shown in the image below.

To change your perspective click the Open Perspective button Image:iconPerspective.png and select a perspective from the list.
