Exporting and importing preferences

Overview

Exporting and importing your preference settings is handy for switching between two different workspaces or computers.

Exporting General Preferences

1. From the File menu, select Export... to open the Export wizard
2. Select General > Preferences and click Next
3. Choose the Export all option
4. Enter or select a file to which the preferences should be written
5. Click the Finish button, Studio saves your preferences

Importing General Preferences

1. From the File menu, select Import... to open the Import window
2. Select General > Preferences and click Next
3. Click the Browse button and browse to the .epf file containing the preferences you wish to import
4. Choose the Import all option
5. Click the Finish button and Studio imports the preferences from the specified file.

Exporting Specific Preferences

1. From the File menu, select Export... to open the Export wizard
2. Select the specific type of preference you wish to export, and click Next
3. Enter or select a file to which the preferences should be written
4. Click the Finish button, Studio saves your preferences

Importing Specific Preferences

1. From the File menu, select Import... to open the Import window
2. Select the matching preference type from above and click Next
3. Click the Browse button and browse to the .epf file containing the preferences you wish to import
4. Click the Finish button and Studio imports the preferences from the specified file.
